This Won't Just be Another Failure...

When meeting with potential clients to determine a course of action for their own personal wellness, I hear some common objections that stem from one central belief: they don’t find value in a wellness program (as it pertains to them).

I am currently working with and have worked with people who have had negative experiences with trainers and nutritionists - similar stories of somewhat not seeing the work through in their client. It’s hard to trust that someone is going to deliver on their promises when you’ve heard it all before with no results. I will never guarantee that you will lose 20lbs in a month, nor do I recommend it. I will always be realistic about timelines based on your specific fitness goals. Most importantly, I will always remain committed to getting you where you want to be, no matter how long it takes.

The client trainer relationship is as much about trust, connectivity, and common goals as any other.

Never settle for someone selling you some get thin quick gimmick. Think about what you’re going for when you set out to change your lifestyle for the better. The most important piece of the puzzle is learning from your trainer to educate yourself about beginning and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, specifically that it’s a multi-faceted sustainable shift. You can’t work out 4 hours a day and eat 5,000 calories of fat. You can eat super clean and never exercise, and your health will not be optimal. Even eating properly and exercising regularly without promoting mobility and flexibility will only take you so far.

Looking at fitness as a means to an end is the sad reality of a lot of peoples’ failed attempts at washboard abs and bikinis. Fad diets and workout programs are all finite, and results tend to dwindle when these habits end. My aim is to help clients achieve sustainable life shifts, so people learn to navigate their lives without a constant weight of success vs. failure. There aren’t “cheat” days, there are times when we have dessert and times when we don’t. By learning to fit “treats” into our caloric needs and making sure to consume enough protein and carbs, fitness performance and muscle hypertrophy can be optimized to achieve the desired result.

If you have fitness goals that you’ve been unable to reach, I strongly recommend speaking with a trainer. Most times the consult/first workout are risk free/no cost, so you really have nothing to lose by prioritizing yourself. If you need a trainer recommendation, I have some awesome colleagues, or I would be thrilled to work with you.
